first bus trip

Friday - Monday, September 2-5, 2005

we visited a beach and a shrine making place along with various shrines. i'm slowly getting to know the people on the trip. they all seem pretty cool, lots of different personalities. maybe i'll have more to say about that later on. you know what i'm missing, SHIT TALKING partners. dude, i need a good bitch session sometimes. i'm just sayin...

the next couple off days we did some more exploring and visiting of more traditional arts and crafts. did you know that indigo (the the dye they use for denim) is made from a plant that is dried and then allowed to ferment? maybe that's why sometimes jeans stink when you first buy them. we also stopped by the place where our instructor sent about 6/7 years learning about paper making. it's very cool to see all of these traditional practices of paper making still in effect. sadly though, these traditions are slowly dying b/c the younger generations that are supposed to be taking over are more interested in other things like making money or working on computers. what are you going to do...
