(knock on wood) good architecture

Thursday, September 8, 2005

saw some good architecture today by steven holl, mark mack, rem koolhaas (he did the prada in beverly hills) at a housing development call nexus in fukuoka. if you haven't noticed, japan is high density. not too many single family detached homes like we're all used to. a lot of families live in high rise apartment buildings that usually have a tiny ass elevator. and if try to cram a whole bunch of people into it, the elevator calls you out, and won't move. i don't think we were supposed to walk around the place b/c there were sings like this posted everywhere. oh well, what we'll do in the name of architecture.

i would like to show the architecture, but i don't know how to do that yet... i'm working out the bugs on this thing...
